Find a Drive

The small print

Terms

The rules for using Find a Drive while it's in early access. Short, because there isn't much to it yet, and plain, because nobody should need a lawyer to read them.

Who we are

Find a Drive (findadrive.co.uk) is run by Driven Innovations LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15698962), whose registered office is at 7/8 Avon Reach, Chippenham, Wiltshire, SN15 1EE. You can reach us at [email protected].

These terms

By using Find a Drive, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site. Our privacy notice explains how we handle your data.

Early access

Find a Drive is still being built. Things will change, some may break, and the site may occasionally be unavailable while we work on it.

The early-invite list

  • You need to be 16 or over to join, and the details you give must be your own.
  • Joining doesn't guarantee an invite by any particular date, and it doesn't commit you to anything, including paying for a membership.
  • Your place in the queue decides the order invites go out in, and nothing more.
  • Founding numbers go to the first 999 members to publish three drives. They're a thank-you, so they can't be sold, transferred or exchanged for money, and we may withdraw one earned with drives published only to get it.
  • We may remove sign-ups that look fake, automated or abusive.

Using the site

Use Find a Drive lawfully and for your own enjoyment. Please don't try to break it, overload it, get around its security, copy it in bulk (by scraping, for example), or use it to send anyone anything they didn't ask for.

Driving

Find a Drive is for inspiration and planning. It's never a reason to drive any differently. You're responsible for how you drive: follow the law and the Highway Code, drive to the conditions, and check routes for yourself, because roads close, change, and occasionally aren't where the map thinks they are.

We'll never time you, rank you by speed, or encourage you to go faster on public roads.

Our content

The words, design, photos and code on Find a Drive belong to us or to the people who let us use them, such as the drivers whose photos appear on the site. Please don't copy them without asking.

Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence. Links to other websites are there to help; we're not responsible for what's on them.

Our responsibility to you

We work hard to keep Find a Drive accurate and available, but it's provided as it is, and we can't promise it will always be either.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to limit.

Beyond that, we're not responsible for loss or damage we couldn't reasonably have foreseen, or for anything that comes down to how you drive or where you choose to go. Find a Drive is for personal use, so we're not liable for business losses. If you use it as a consumer, you also have legal rights these terms don't affect.

Changes

We'll update these terms as Find a Drive grows, and the date at the top shows when they last changed. If a change matters, we'll tell everyone on the list before it takes effect.

The law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts. If any part of them turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
