The Skellig Ring climbs out of St Finian's Bay to Coomanaspig, one of the highest points in Ireland you can drive to, then drops to Portmagee. From the top you look down on Valentia Island and Portmagee's harbour, and back over the bay to the two Skelligs.

The road is narrow and steep on both sides, with tight bends, so it's no place for a caravan. Portmagee is where the boats for Skellig Michael leave in summer, and a bridge crosses from it to Valentia.
